Sony "VAIO Music Clip" Owners in Japan Sony Corporation has recently learned that 'VAIO Music Clip (MC-P10)' personal network players manufactured before February 14, 2000 may not work as intended with certain types of rechargeable batteries. Although an unlikely occurrence, when the VAIO Music Clips are used with certain rechargeable batteries they may short-circuit and overheat, leading to a deformation of the battery casing. Should the Player begin to overheat, contact with the affected area should be avoided to eliminate any possible skin burns. If you possess a 'VAIO Music Clip (MC-P10)' with a serial number between 1000001 and 1011390, please contact Sony Corporation immediately on the following toll-free Call Center number. The VAIO Music Clip will be modified free of charge to prevent this type of incident from occurring. Although Sony believes this problem will not occur if the recommended Alkaline AA batteries are used, to ensure your safety we request your cooperation so the affected VAIO Music Clips can be modified.
